The PE & School Sports Network, proudly based at Bacon’s College for over 12 years, is dedicated to raising the standards of physical education and school sport across South East London. We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to be active, to enjoy sport, and to develop the skills and confidence that will support them throughout their lives.

Our work is driven by a commitment to inclusion, excellence and opportunity. Each year, we deliver a wide range of programmes and initiatives designed to support schools, empower teachers, and inspire pupils of all ages and abilities.

Our key aims include:

• Delivering a varied and inclusive competition programme for primary, secondary and special schools, including the prestigious School Games. These events provide pupils with the chance to represent their school, celebrate achievement, and enjoy the spirit of friendly competition.

• Upskilling teachers through an extensive CPD programme. We offer tailored training, team teaching opportunities and insets designed to build confidence and expertise in delivering high-quality PE lessons.

• Developing the next generation of leaders. Our leadership programme gives young people access to training, mentoring and real-life volunteering experiences at future sporting events, helping them to build key life skills.

• Promoting health and wellbeing. Through targeted workshops and resources, we educate young people on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, covering physical activity, nutrition and mental wellbeing.

• Strengthening SEND provision. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils can thrive through sport, and our SEND PE Teaching Programme helps schools to provide meaningful and accessible opportunities for children and young people with additional needs.

• Providing engaging PE lessons. Above all, we work with schools to ensure PE is fun, inclusive and inspiring, encouraging every child to enjoy being active and to develop a lifelong love of sport.
